a combination of Pop and Country songs written by Richard McGibony, who Wrote for Johnny Cash, soon caught the attention of Country Hall of Famer Cliffie Stone. Cliffie was Tennessee
Ernie Fords Manager. Billy was asked by Cliffie to record three of his songs.
So when Cliffie was honored by the North American Country Music Assoc., Billy was
asked to sing those songs at the Award Show, being held at the Louise Mandrel Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN on 3/7/99.While at the Awards Show, Billy became fast friends with Lynn Anderson, and her
mother Liz Anderson, who were also inducted into the Hall of Fame. Lynn Anderson performed "Rocky Top". Donna Fargo, who hosted the show, also befriended Billy.
